Studio Project
As part of our ongoing investigations into light and form, this Studio Project looked at the world of construction and fabrication, seeking beauty in the kineticism of hard materials.
Treating light as a material, rather than a photographic tool, allowed us to consider it equal to physical parts. Here light becomes the unifying force of a construction that feels rich, modern and utilitarian.

Passing from the smallest through to the largest elements, we used light to trigger, tag, and assemble the components in a cascading, domino-like sequence of light and form.

Tension was created by finding the finest moments of contact. Scale was creatively employed throughout the sequence to take us from the smallest spark to the fully illuminated, complete kinetic sculpture.
