Visualising the architectural shift to utility-scale computing
IBM needed to show how their Quantum System Two has evolved into a scalable architectural framework. Alongside Map Project Office and Universal Design Studio, we explored the connections between individual units and the wider system. Our challenge was to represent complex science and spatial design as one seamless experience, to document the world’s first large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer.
MOTION SYSTEM Modular choreography demonstrating data centre scalability
We built a film that moves from the macro to the atmospheric, capturing the scale and elegance of this modular system. Our process focused on the ‘Chandelier’, the system’s quantum heart. Using refined textures and light-refraction models, we highlighted its intricate cooling structures and showcased the system’s modularity through cinematic lighting and purposeful camera moves.

The result is a film that makes the future of computing tangible. By blending technical detail with cinematic craft, we visualised the system architecture and the Chandelier’s complexity. The film provides a high-fidelity brand asset for IBM, turning technical engineering into an elegant and accessible asset.
